0784_VIVE_RIO_MINHO_1_P

This project will work on the promotion and the revitalization of the Rio Minho cross-border green ways through cross-border activities for the preservation, qualification and enhancement of environmental value, and aims to capitalize on the VISIT_RIO_MINHO project, completed in June 2021.

The result of the capitalization is the implementation and structuring of the cross-border greenways which will be carried out through cross-border activities for the preservation, qualification and environmental enhancement of the endogenous resources associated with the promotion and communication of the Rio Minho as an ecotourist destination.

OBJECTIVES

  • Promote the Rio Minho cross-border greenways by carrying out environmentally friendly activities related to nature tourism and ecotourism.
  • Increase the presence of the cross-border area of the Rio Minho as an ecotourism destination on a peninsular and international scale.
  • Develop actions in the territory that allow the connection between the different paths belonging to the network of Rio Minho cross-border greenways that still lack said connection, as well as improve the signage of the existing ones.
  • Strengthen the Rio Minho cross-border greenways with the implementation of new interventions in the territory and specifically in small urban areas where the action has not yet been taken.
  • Enhance the endogenous resources of the Minho River and to contribute to the knowledge of its natural heritage through interpretation and environmental education. These objectives will be concrete with the realization of an environmental scientific congress.
