Revision of the Strategy of Cross-border Rio Minho 2030

This project tries to adapt the ‘Strategy of Cross-border Minho River 2030’ approved in 2019 within the framework of the SMART_MINO project to the new post Covid-19 context.

This need for adaptation is due to two main circumstances: (i) the approval of the regulations and financial frameworks for the period 2021-2027 in their operational version; and (ii) the whole new scenario opened up by the outbreak of Covid-19 and its management, which, for the Spanish-Portuguese border as a whole, gave rise to a diversity of new strategic documents such as the ‘Common Border Development Spain-Portugal’ (2020) or, in the case of Galicia-North Portugal, it includes, among others, a new PIC (2021).

OBJECTIVES

Revise and adapt the ‘Strategy of Cross-border Minho River 2030’. This adaptation is vital for the future of territory covered by the Rio Minho EGTC and involves an improvement in the governance of cross-border cooperation through an adapted strategic process that will be led by the EGTC itself.
Align the Strategy in relation to key documents produced at community level such as EU Regulations 2021/1059 and 2021/1060 or the ‘Territorial Agenda 2030’ approved in 2021, or in relation to those produced specifically for the entire Spanish cross-border area-Portuguese and the Euro regional area of Galicia-North of Portugal.
Elaborate a new prospective diagnosis that allows the foundation of an adapted Strategy for the territory of the Cross-border Rio Minho and that leads to the preparation of a final action plan of a proactive and executive nature.
