Recognition of the EGTC Rio Minho a Ponte… nas Ondas!

During the Ordinary General Assembly held last Monday at the House of the Count of Salvaterra de Miño, specific recognition was unanimously agreed upon for the Galician-Portuguese cultural and educational association Ponte… nas Ondas! for its recent registration in UNESCO’s Register of Good Practices for Safeguarding Intangible Cultural Heritage.

The cultural and pedagogical organization has been working for nearly 30 years in favor of the intangible cultural heritage of the Minho territory, an action that it has shared with the European cooperation organization as in the development of the “Human Treasures of the Cross-border Rio Minho” project, an initiative to recover the memory cross-border Galician-Portuguese cultural that materialized in the creation of a web repository (https://smartminho.eu/tesouros-humanos-vivos/) with all the information collected, a documentary, a traveling exhibition, storytellers in schools and the edition of a children’s book.

Precisely, in the same line of work the EGTC Rio Minho and Ponte… nas Ondas! they have just signed a collaboration agreement for the development of the Rio Minho Intangible Cultural Heritage Center, a proposal promoted by the European grouping within the LIVHES project, financed by the SUDOE that will see the light of day next year.
