The EGTC Rio Minho attends the 5th meeting of the partners of the LIVHES project in Teruel

From today until November 16, the nine entities that make up the LIVHES project, co-financed by the Interreg Sudoe Program through the European Regional Development Fund, and of which the EGTC Rio Minho is a part, meet in Teruel to put together the progress achieved by the different partners during the last six months.

After the meeting held in Burgos from March 29 to 31, the project partners concentrated their efforts on advancing their respective pilot experiences and action plans. The initiatives aim to highlight aspects of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of the different territories to which the member entities belong through various actions.

The meeting in Teruel will facilitate the exchange of experiences between the nine entities that make up the project as well as the sharing of the work carried out to date by the partners.

The program also includes working days and visits to promote the intangible cultural heritage of the province of Teruel and Aragon, which begin today with the presentation of the Academia de las Artes del Folclore y la Jota de Aragón, an initiative of the Government of Aragon to support the candidacy of the Jota as UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

The LIVHES project

The LIVHES project, co-financed by the Interreg Sudoe Program through the European Regional Development Fund (FEDER), aims to find and implement new ways of valuing the Intangible Cultural Heritage, promoted and recognized by UNESCO in the sparsely populated areas of southern Europe to turn it into a tool for sustainable economic development and territorial cohesion.

LIVHES started at the end of 2020 and will end in April 2023. The nine partners who are part of the project are: Pays de Béarn, the Deputation of Teruel, the Deputation of Burgos, the Institut Català de Recerca en el Patrimoni Cultural (ICRPC), the Municipality of Barcelos, the Public University of Navarra, CIRDOC – Institut Occitan de Cultura, Communauté de communes Pyrénées Haut Garonnaises and the EGTC Rio Minho.
