Chega unha nova edición de 'Vive o Rio Minho', actividades ecoturísticas para dar a coñecer o territorio transfronteirizo do Miño

It will make it possible to publicize and promote the cross-border territory of Miño as a nature destination under the VIVE_RIO_MINHO project

In the context of the VIVE_RIO_MINHO project, continuation of VISIT_RIO_MINHO, the EGTC Rio Minho, the Deputation of Pontevedra and the CIM Alto Minho are going to organize a new edition of the ecotourism activities ‘Vive o Rio Minho’ to make known and promote the cross-border territory of Minho as destination of nature.

Among the free proposals for the public will be a popular walk, hiking routes, rafting, kayaking, cultural visits, wine tastings and stargazing that will take place between next Sunday, April 30, and June 4, by the company Xeitura. Registrations for the activities, which will have a maximum of 60 places, will open on the Monday before the celebration and will be filled in strict order of arrival.

The intention of the program, as explained by Uxío Benítez, director of the EGTC Rio Minho, is to attract visitors to the territory of the Rio Minho to show them all its attractions and scenic, natural, cultural and gastronomic wealth within a destination strategically located and shared by two countries. There will be activities in Vila Nova de Cerveira, Tomiño, O Rosal, Melgaço, Salvaterra, Arbo, Monçao, A Guarda, Oia and Caminha. A fundamental issue, as he stressed, is to take advantage of the tourist potential of the area in a sustainable and rational way to guarantee the quality of the offer as a quiet destination without agglomerations in a sustained way over time.

The ’Vive o Rio Minho’ program is carried out within the project of the same name, co-financed with FEDER funds through the ‘Interreg V-A POCTEP 2014-2020’ program, as was already done in 2020, when despite being in full pandemic, it had been a success of participation, selling out the available places in just minutes.
