The EGTC Rio Minho approved the Activity Plan and Budget for 2024

Yesterday at the headquarters of the EGTC Rio Minho, in Valença, the Activity and Budget Plan for 2024 was approved by the General Assembly, with a global investment of 509,215.00 euros.

In addition, the installation meeting of the new members of the Delegation of the Deputation of Pontevedra for the current mandate took place, with the president of the Intermunicipal Community of Alto Minho and president of the Câmara Municipal de Melgaço, Manoel Batista, remaining president of the General Assembly; and Fernando Reyes González, councilor of A Guarda, was also elected as Secretary.

The director of the EGTC Rio Minho, Roberto Carrero, deputy for Cross-border Cooperation of the Deputation of Pontevedra and mayor of A Guarda, presented the main priorities of the Activity Plan, through the implementation of projects subject to nominations already approved in the Interreg VI A Program and the preparation of new candidacies and projects to be nominated in the scope of the Interreg VI 2021-2027 Program and other programs within the framework of European Territorial Cooperation. In this area, the “REDE_GOV_MINHO” project stands out, co-financed by the Interreg VI A program, which aims to consolidate networking with the local dynamics of cross-border cooperation.

On the other hand, emphasis will be placed on the promotion of actions to consolidate the Rio Minho Brand and the green ring of cross-border routes, the maintenance and development of the operation of the shared service “Sistema de Bike Sharing do Rio Minho Transfronteirizo – e-bike Rio Minho”, in collaboration with the Eurocities of Cerveira-Tomiño, Tui-Valença and Monção-Salvaterra, the reinforcement of the process of identifying obstacles to cross-border mobility and integration in the territory of the River Minho and the promotion of multilevel alliances for the design of proposed solutions for the improvement of cross-border governance conditions.

However, in 2024 actions will be taken to support the local cross-border dynamics of the municipalities and councils of the intervention territory of the EGTC Rio Minho, and the institutional communication of the EGTC Rio Minho will be strengthened.

The overall planned investment is 509,215.00 euros, representing 23% more than the previous year’s budget.

Established in 2018, the EGTC Rio Minho has as partners the CIM Alto Minho and the Deputation of Pontevedra, and covers 26 municipalities: the 10 municipalities that make up the Intermunicipal Community of Alto Minho (CIM) and 16 Galician municipalities in the province of Pontevedra linked to the rio Minho.
