e-bike Rio Minho

Inserted in a set of public policies for planning and sustainable development, which includes the promotion of cycle paths and cycling routes, believing in the importance that this has for the quality of life of communities, the EGTC Rio Minho, in partnership with the Eurocities Cerveira-Tomiño, Tui-Valença and Monção-Salvaterra, promotes the sustainable smooth mobility project: e-bike Rio Minho – Electric bicycle sharing system, – within the scope of the Smart_Minho project, co-financed by Interreg V-A.

This smooth -non-polluting- mobility network for the non-polluting transport of people, for work or leisure, as a valid alternative or complementary to the existing modes of transport, will contribute to:

  • obvious gains for public health, through the physical exercise it promotes among its users and the consequent well-being of the people who adopt it;
  • improve mobility, freeing up public space for other functions;
  • reduction of noise and consequent noise pollution;
  • significant reduction of polluting gases in urban environments, reducing dependence on fossil fuels and considerably improving the quality of the air we breath.

How it works:

  • Register at one of the service desks, obtain your user card, or download the Rio Minho e-bike application from the Glooge Play Store or the Apple Store.
  • Swipe the Rio Minho e-bike user card on the reader marked in green to unlock or activate the bike using the app;
  • After a beep, you have 30 seconds to remove your bike (if you detect any anomaly, you have 5 minutes to change your bike);
  • Each use takes place for a maximum period of 3 hours a day (consecutive or not and you will only be able to pick up a new bike after 15 minutes);
  • Return the bicycle to the physical and/or virtual stations at the end of each use and verify that it has been safely anchored (if using the virtual station, the user is obliged to verify in the Rio Minho e-bike APP that the system recognizes the good delivery of the bicycle by displaying the message “Obrigado/Thank you“, or by checking that the bicycle reader light has turned green).
